Rachel is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at PCCA. In this position, Dr. Kornacker provides neuropsychological assessment and therapy services for children and adolescents. She earned a BA in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2015. Dr. Kornacker then went on to complete her graduate education at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology earning a MA and PsyD, both in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on children and adolescents.

In addition to her graduate education focus on children and adolescents, Dr. Kornacker has had clinical experience with individuals across the lifespan. She has psychological assessment experience within the therapeutic day school setting, as well as providing therapy services in the community mental health center and residential treatment center settings. Dr. Kornacker completed her pre-doctoral internship at Lawrence Hall, a residential treatment center for adolescent males. She has worked with a diverse set of children, adolescents, adults, and families presenting with a variety of psychological presentations such as complex trauma, ADHD, Autism, conduct disorder, PTSD, depressive disorders, OCD, and emerging personality disorders. 

Dr. Kornacker takes a systems-based approach to therapy, often supplementing with cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques. Her style places importance on family involvement in treatment, as children are often impacted by the systems in which they live. Other areas of specialty include complex trauma, autism, family therapy, and psychological evaluations. Dr. Kornacker’s doctoral research focused on the comparison of the education for religious clergy members and psychologists on how they are taught to work with families where there has been a suicide.
